CAMS Trained Pathway

The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) provides the CAMS Trained pathway for clinical staff at no cost to you or your organization. The value of this is over $400 per person trained.

Thank you for your interest in the Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS), an evidence-based framework for better suicide care. Please note, this training is extensive and can take 4-6 months to complete. It is not recommended that this training be used as a way to meet CE requirements for licensure. That said, all elements are free at no cost to you if you choose to move forward. Each element of CAMS requires that you notify VDH via email when you are ready to move forward to the next element. If you choose to participate in this offering, you will receive:

  1. Access to the asynchronous Foundational Video Series and 3 CEs (complete in 60 days)
  2. Access to the CAMS e-book (no CEs)
  3. Access to the 7-hour virtual role-play (7 CEs)
  4. Access to 4 consultation calls scheduled at your convenience to discuss challenging cases or review key concepts (no CEs)

Important: If more than one person from your organization will be registering, please email Justin Wallace from VDH (justin.wallace@vdh.virginia.gov) to schedule a brief meeting prior to beginning the registration process.

Begin the registration process by completing this form. Submission of the form does not guarantee enrollment in the CAMS course. VDH will review your submission and make a determination as time allows.
